[There's a shock of dark brown hair visible at first- After a moment the camera travels down to reveal Norman looking into the gear. He offers an awkward half-smile.]

So, I guess I made it all the way to Violet City. Not alone, or anything, but- I'm still really surprised I did it. It's a lot harder than camping, and the weather was pretty gross, too.

I think we're going to stay here for a little while. I heard that the gym is pretty hard and I kind of want to try and get a badge.

Oh- That reminds me.

[Norman isn't usually one to show off or anything, but he's kind of proud of this, so he shuffles a bit shyly before he shifts the gear's camera to a Hoothoot.]

This is Hopkins. I caught him. Um, well, with help from Ellis. I don't think we would have found him if he hadn't run into that tree.

[There's a long ...sort of awkward pause where Norman doesn't know what else to say. He makes a few uncertain faces before he shrugs.]

That's all, I guess. Uh.

[And the feed ends.]

[Open for action in Violet City, as well. He's just going to be walking around with his Duskull out and about, exploring the city.]

[HURRAY AWKWARD TURTLES. Look how surprised he is that someone immediately guessed a horror movie actor.]

He's actually named after a zombie I met once, but it could be both. I already named my Shedinja Hannibal, though.

[TURTLE TURTLE TURTLE TURTLE. But she lit right up at the mention of horror movies, though. She has fond memories of movie nights.]

You met a zombie? What's a Shedinja? Does it eat people's brains?

[That's excellent because Norman is ALL ABOUT horror movies.]

Oh um, a Shedinja is ... [Hang on, he's going to get Hannibal out. It doesn't really look like a cannibal. It's actually kind of derp looking but hey. A ghost is a ghost!]

And yeah, I met seven of them, kind of. They were cursed puritans.

[Color her impressed. Or, well, as impressed as you can be by an animate ghostly husk bug. Which in Parker's case is kind of a lot, as it turns out.]

You're really going for all the spooky ones, huh? He looks super creepy.

Oh, um. Yeah. I like ghosts, so most of my pokemon are ghost types.

[He shrugs.]

Apparently there's some legend about Shedinja's stealing souls if you look into their back, but its kind of a hoax, that doesn't actually happen.

I haven't seen any ghost types yet. Mine are stuff like fire and poison.

[She bends down for emphasis, and reappears with a nine-foot length of happy Seviper curling around her shoulders.]

Like Bitey, see?

I have a fire type. He's a ghost and fire type, actually.

[He looks with interest at the Seviper. Wait-]

You named it "Bitey"?

Yeah! See his fangs? They're like a foot long.

[Parker, that is a HUGE SNAKE DRAPED ACROSS YOURSELF, where is your sense of self-preservation. Also, Bitey sure does have some huge fangs, yup. Big ol' red fangs, right there on display.]

That's how they kill you, with the fangs. They inject venom.

[Look, it's another Hoothoot - goggled, of course! Coo is the friendly one, after all. Raz isn't actually at the 'gear right now, though - he's just off-screen, in the grass of Route 7. Outskirts of Saffron, of course. He's just kind of left his 'gear there as he trains up his new Sableye and Eevee - in the background, you may even see the three battling a rather nasty Electrike. (He's got R there to help, too, of course.)

So that is why a Hoothoot is tapping at the screen, at the other Hoothoot.]

[Oh hey. Another Hoothoot. Norman has a small idea of who it belongs to because of the goggles. Norman still isn't all that sure what to make of Raz, but he guesses it should be fine to let the Hoothoot's chat.]

[Hopkins leans into the camera curiously.]

[Norman thinks Bitey looks awesome, he's just not to sure about the name.]

I know how poisonous snakes work.

Venomous snakes. Venom has to be injected into the tissues or the bloodstream; poison just has to touch you. If Bitey were poisonous I couldn't hold him like this, because the skin contact would be what killed me.

Is there really a such thing as poisonous snakes that kill you if you touch them?

[...Good question.]

I think so. Why else would they have to tell the difference between the two?

[Aah!! Coo suddenly starts speaking, when she sees the other is paying attention!]
Hoot Hoot! Hello! Who are you? I saw your trainer talking to my second trainer once! Hooooooot~! My name is Coo! I'm super strong, from the very first route. I took down a whole gym by myself, which was kind of sad, because I wanted my friends to help kick butt. Hoooot.
[...Coo gets it from belonging to Kirby at first. She's a talkative one.]

I dunno. That's the first time I've ever heard that. [Don't look at him, he's eleven.]

Oh yeah, Ellis, I remember him, the guy who was trying to get his pig la-- [little kid, Blake, watch your fucking mouth] a boyfriend. He ran into a tree hard enough to knock an owl out?

[he eyes the bird] So that's what wouldn't shut up at night on the road. Looks like yours is missing a foot.

[Of course, having out a Pokemon as rare as a Duskull wandering around with you is bound to draw some attention.

Particularly from other Duskulls, like the one currently floating over to check this out.]

Ah! Orpheus, where are you going?

[Ilya follows the floating skull face, followed closely by a gallomphing mass of rock and spikes (otherwise known as a Rhyhorn). She stops when she sees what caught her Duskull's eye.]

Oh. Well hello there! [She beams at Norman.]

Well, learning experience. They have both. The more you know.

[The Hoothoot looks a bit taken aback by the exuberance of Coo. He's not quite so excitable, but he bounces amiably.]

Hello, Coo! My name is Hopkins. You must have an amazing trainer!I have not been to any gyms yet, I think my trainer is very new at this. Hoot!

[Norman snorts.] Don't worry. You can say things like the s-word around me. I promise I won't freak out.

We were looking for them along Route 29 and they only appear at night. [He's going to save Ellis' dignity a little. He's not going to mention the ZOMBIES fiasco.]

Oh, no, he just kind of likes to stand on one foot. I'm not sure why.

[Norman's Duskull noticed the approach before Norman did and floated around excitedly at Orpheus.]

Oh. Romero, who's thi--Ah!

[The Rhyhorn catches him off guard and he steps back a bit before he spots the girl. Oh.]

U-Um. Hi.

Hey, I already have another kid getting on my back to clean up my language.

That makes sense for owls, but doesn't explain how anybody ran into a tree.

[Blake looks into the bird's big orange eyes.] Maybe he's just stupid.

[A Snubbull's pink head shoves into the frame. Steve wants to see!]

[She giggles merrily at his reaction to her Rhyhorn.]

That's a new one. Usually it's Orpheus that scares people, not Berserker. Unless he's charging them, anyway, but that only happens if we're in battle.

[The distresssingly-named Rhyhorn snorts and tosses his head while Orpheus laughs and floats around with Romero.]

I haven't seen another Duskull in forever! Your trainer has good taste.
