One Ghost

[The pokegear flips on and there is a very confused, somewhat bewildered looking kid looking into the camera.]

Okay, um. I ...really don't know what's going on here. This isn't my house, or my mom, and this place is definitely not Blithe Hollow.

Is anyone listening on this? I- this is crazy. I'm walking around this place like I got trapped in a video game- I don't think I've even played this version. What does- Ack!

[And it's at this point, Norman gets cut off because he's being bodily tackled by his pokemon, which can be seen as a Duskull shaped blur. Norman grumbles off screen as he's at the mercy of its affection.]

I'm just making a call, I'm not going anywhere- Okay, okay we can go in a minute. I kind of need you to get off me first.

[The funny thing is that he's actually also having a conversation with it.]

[Wow, yep. Ellis is like as tall as his sister. Norman smiles a bit and offers him a small wave.]

You too, I-- [And that's when Romero sort of ducks around him to wave enthusiastically at Ellis.]

Romero says hi, too.

[He hasn't met anyone this short in a while. Hell, he's not met a kid in general in a while considering zombies. It's pretty nice! Man he's real tempted to touch Norman's hair, because he has no concept of personal space. But he's not doing it juuust yet. Especially because suddenly ghost!]

Whoa, hey there bud! Nice to meet ya both! I ain't ever met a ghost named Romero before... Hell, ain't ever met a ghost before. This is so cool!

[Romero preens at being called cool. He likes this guy. Norman snickers a little bit.]

Um. He's named after George Romero, the famous movie director?

Oh, that guy! I think I remember one of my friends mentioning he did zombie movies, too! Kinda ironic considerin' we got run over with zombies where I'm from.

[Ellis is too busy looking at Duskull to really note anything off, and he sure did mention zombies as if it was no big deal at all. When he asks that, Ellis nods, finally turning his attention back to Norman.]

Yup! Zombies everywhere. The fast kind of zombies that like to run and hit and bite. They're just so mad. It's crazy! Oh and... man, don't even get me started on those other ones. Like the Tank and Boomer... Those bastards are the worst!

...Like. Zombies that were actually trying to eat your face off and everything?

[That's probably a weird question, but Norman has to specify. He's met non-bitey zombies after all.]

Well... They kinda seemed more like they just wanted to hit ya more 'n anything, but I'm pretty sure a lot of 'em ate people too. Maybe once they was dead, 'cuz I saw lottsa half eaten people.

Yikes. I've met zombies before, but they weren't trying to eat anyone.

Whoa, really? I ain't ever met a zombie that wasn't tryin' to eat anyone. Can ya even call 'em zombies if they don't eat people?

Well, I guess. They were reanimated dead people. They were cursed, so they had to rise from their graves once every year. So, yeah, they were still rotting, three-hundred-year-old corpses, they just weren't hungry.

Oh... Why'd they have to come to life every year? That's kinda weird.

And it don't make no sense that they weren't hungry! If they only rise for once a year, then that's a long time not eatin'!

That was part of the curse. Three-hundred years ago they sentenced someone to death because they were scared of her, so in returned she cursed them to rise up again every year on the anniversary of her death. She would ...also try to basically destroy the town if someone didn't try to put her back to sleep again.

It's kind of complicated.

Also, I think most of them didn't even have stomachs anymore, so I dunno. They just didn't want to eat.
