[The pokegear flips on and there is a very confused, somewhat bewildered looking kid looking into the camera.]

Okay, um. I ...really don't know what's going on here. This isn't my house, or my mom, and this place is definitely not Blithe Hollow.

Is anyone listening on this? I- this is crazy. I'm walking around this place like I got trapped in a video game- I don't think I've even played this version. What does- Ack!

[And it's at this point, Norman gets cut off because he's being bodily tackled by his pokemon, which can be seen as a Duskull shaped blur. Norman grumbles off screen as he's at the mercy of its affection.]

I'm just making a call, I'm not going anywhere- Okay, okay we can go in a minute. I kind of need you to get off me first.

[The funny thing is that he's actually also having a conversation with it.]

[It looks like he's having a conversation with it? That's what pings Raz the most, his Gardevoir off-screenly using powers to levitate up the 'gear. On screen, a Weavile is next to the kid, a Hoothoot is floating around behind him dancing around a Charizard, and a Woobat on his head.

All but the Weavile have goggles on.]
Hey -- are you talking to that guy?
[Raz may have his Gardevoir talking to him right now. Telepathy is awesome Norman.]

[Oh, hey, a response. Norman sort of crawls his way over to the gear while Duskull is still latched onto him.]

Um. Yeah?

[Is that weird? Because Duskull just keeps talking to him. He half responded with a defensive "YOU CAN SEE HIM?" but stopped himself because duh pokemon.]

[Raz suddenly has a grin on his face, as R tries to be the voice of reason. Why? Well, Raz had done this before.]
Razputin, I doubt he's a psychic. There are many reasons he could understand that spectre, that spirit.
Hey, but he could be! There's so few people who can hear you guys - it's pretty annoying. [And then he looks back to the screen, instead of behind it. His eyes, though hidden, are kind of wide and excited.] I can understand them too! Are you a psychic?

[Excuse him, that's... Mostly all he took out of this whole thing. He hasn't seen a ghost type since coming here! He's been too busy trying to make sure he has enough food to feed Suee, that he hasn't left the first town yet. That, and he's been trying to find a boyfriend for her to no avail.]

I'm kinda jealous. I've been wantin' one ever since I got here!

[Norman is just kind of stationed a little ways from "Mom"s house, and he's totally up for talking to someone in person. Duskull seems to be content to stay latched onto him, while he tries responding to his messages.]

Funny sure. I mean, it looks a lot like a mass kidnapping?

I'm gonna take a wild guess and assume people've already at least tried to fill you in. Consider it part of your newbie orient--

[And cue what can only be described as white noise combined with a warped version of Skull Kid's laugh from Phantom. Though, Norman may understand it more as irritated mutterings over how he was so ready to scare the pants off that kid.]

Anyway, this place definitely teeters on a weird line between video game and reality. Magic ledges you just can't climb, nonstop music, no real death... Kind of weird when everything else feels so real.

That's- yeah, I've gathered most of that so far. It would seem really fun if it wasn't so ...strange.

Well if you've played Red or Blue version, then you've played half of this world at least. You are in Johto right now, but Kanto exists here as well, it's just a separate region.

[John grins. It's always great to meet somebody else who knows what Pokemon is.]

But this isn't actually the video game...at least I don't think. I mean it's pretty real, you know? But some of the natives are a little...NPC-ish. Also, you totally lucked out on your starter, man. The Duskull line is awesome.
