Two Ghosts

[There's a shock of dark brown hair visible at first- After a moment the camera travels down to reveal Norman looking into the gear. He offers an awkward half-smile.]

So, I guess I made it all the way to Violet City. Not alone, or anything, but- I'm still really surprised I did it. It's a lot harder than camping, and the weather was pretty gross, too.

I think we're going to stay here for a little while. I heard that the gym is pretty hard and I kind of want to try and get a badge.

Oh- That reminds me.

[Norman isn't usually one to show off or anything, but he's kind of proud of this, so he shuffles a bit shyly before he shifts the gear's camera to a Hoothoot.]

This is Hopkins. I caught him. Um, well, with help from Ellis. I don't think we would have found him if he hadn't run into that tree.

[There's a long ...sort of awkward pause where Norman doesn't know what else to say. He makes a few uncertain faces before he shrugs.]

That's all, I guess. Uh.

[And the feed ends.]

[Open for action in Violet City, as well. He's just going to be walking around with his Duskull out and about, exploring the city.]

[When he speaks to Romero like that, Ilya stares at him in confusion for a couple seconds... before her eyes suddenly widen as she realizes the implications.]

You can talk to them?

Ooooh, that is interesting! Mistress can't ever figure out what we're saying, it's kind of sad. But we love her anyway!

[Norman looks up and kind of shrugs, abashed.]

Um, yeah. Just the ghosts, though. I can't actually talk to any others.

I get to be the go-between when he talks to the others!

Lucky! Usually only the Psychics can do that.

Oh? That's strange, the other person I met who can talk to Pokemon can talk to all of them. Did you have some sort of power in your world related to ghosts?

[Wouldn't be the first time she's heard of something like that.]

Yeah, I do.

[He shrugs. Talking about it isn't something he makes a habit, but he's not about to lie.]

I used to talk to the dead back home. I guess that means I can only talk to ghost pokemon here.

[Not being able to see ghosts everywhere was still really hard to get used to.]

Oh, then you're a medium! Those are all in the service of the Church where I come from.

[Well, she accepted that pretty quickly.]

I'm a magus, myself, or at least I was. I can't cast anything here though.

Yeah, I guess. I've never really thought to call it anything.

[Pauses.]

Really? I thought most places like that would try to hurt them. I mean- that kind of happened to one of my ancestors during the 1700's.

[He's starting to get used to people taking this in stride.]

You know magic?

Well, that was a long time ago. The Church decided that using them was a lot more effective than killing them a while back, in my world at least. Of course, when you have things like Dead Apostles wandering around making life miserable for everyone, you've really got to think of things like that.

[She's really pretty chill talking about killing and "Dead Apostles", whatever those are. Like she's talking about the weather.]

Oh yes, all sorts of spells. If we were back in my world I wouldn't mind showing you, but like I said, I can't do it here.

[She sighs, folding her arms and not even bothering to hide her disappointment.]
